A Finnish version of the Moonphase watch, the K3 Northern Stars.

I received this stunning piece for a client yesterday. Having seen a version of it last Basel, I was eager to see this here in CA. The dueling moons are very neat and Stepan Sarpaneva has created one heck of a watch here! His strong design sense is in full view here with this version of the Korona K3 Northern Stars.

Another view of this lovely piece:

I have seen other versions in the past 2 years at Basel, but this steel cased piece with the blued dial, rose gold moons & hands is absolutely stunning in person. Stepan chose an amusing strap of vibrant blue Frog skin to set this piece off, and in speaking with him about it, is very proud of the finished result. I know the new owner is very thrilled. This being the first watch bought "sight unseen", just photos from my Basel trip earlier this year, he was slightly apprehensive. Suffice to say, he is very happy.

Here we see the reverse of the K3 Northern Stars, sporting the RG moon weighted rotor of blued steel.

And finally the picture that I think best represents this amazing piece of Stepan's micro mechanical art...

These are the new owners words upon receiving this gem:
